This 30-minute performance is a journey through memory, exile, and transmission, guided by the symbolism of the khoustka, the traditional Ukrainian headscarf. Through intimate storytelling, oud melodies, traditional Ukrainian songs, and drawing, it evokes the landscapes of a childhood in Ukraine and the paths of exile. By weaving together the floral patterns of the khoustka with the flowers of family gardens, the scarves become symbols of attachment to the lands left behind and of the search for new roots. The sound of the Oud opens a space of resonance with other cultures and other stories of exile. Gradually, the fringes of the Khoustka intertwine with the strings of the instrument like threads of memory, weaving together a new place to call home.
